The main reason I went up north for the weekend was so that I could finally meet my Birth mom's kids. She and her husband hadn't ever told their kids about me and now that the whole situation has sunk in a bit more, they decided to tell their kids about 2 weeks ago. She said that they all took it very well and were really just excited to have an older sister. So later in the afternoon on Friday I went to their house to meet all 5 of them. We planned to spend the afternoon/evening together so they could get to know me. They were so cute....all eager to see me and hug me. Even though they were shy at first, I could still tell they were excited. We took some pictures, they gave me a Christmas present and then Rianne (9) gave me her own. She made me a flower out of colored popsicle sticks...so sweet and cute! The kids all decided that they wanted to go bowling so we headed off. It was so fun and a good way for us to all be ourselves and just get comfortable with each other. I unfortunately started out really good and then bombed. Then we went to dinner together. At this point it was so fun cause the kids got to the point of just being goofy and totally comfortable with me. It was funny cause I would catch them staring at me a lot. Sharlene told me that they made comments about how they couldnt believe how much I look like her. I'm sure that must have been a little weird for them. Then afterwards we went back to their house and played games and ate pie and ice cream.
