A Few Thoughts

So recently one of my good friends, Janene's dad passed away. It wasn't too sudden because he has been pretty sick for a long time. Madalyn and I went up to the funeral in Idaho on Monday. All the services were good and it was good to see her whole family again. Just wish it had been happier circumstances. I have only ever been to one other funeral, my grandpa's. It all got me really thinking about how grateful I am to have the gospel in my life. It really is a blessing to know that this life isn't the end and that if we live right we can see those we love again. I honestly dont know how people get through deaths believing its the end. How great the plan of salvation is! It also made me think about how important it is for us to show our appreciation for those we love on a regular basis. I know I dont always do the best job of letting those people I love know it.
Dean was a great man w a great family. He had 5 boys, 3 girls and an amazing wife. They had a marriage that was a true example of what love and sacrifice means. We were pretty close w them because when we lived in Logan they were like 2nd parents to us. My heart goes out to their family and especially to Janene, but I hope they can find comfort in the memories and good times spent w their dad and the knowledge that they will be together again!
